A photograph exists, taken on this front porch, of Rainey and President Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt came here to hunt. Recently, his grandson made the pilgrimage to stand where his grandfather stood. The next owner will own that porch. Rainey was the first man in history to hunt lions on horseback with hounds.
